AnimaEcho ("AnimaEcho", "we", "us", or "our") builds a warm AI companion app. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We designed AnimaEcho to collect as little as possible and to keep your conversations private.
By using the AnimaEcho app or website (together, the "Service"), you agree to this Policy.
The AnimaEcho Chrome extension is a different product with a different design, and it is covered by its own Chrome extension privacy policy.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Conversations. The messages you send to your companion, and the replies generated for you. These are used to produce responses and to power the app's memory feature so your companion can remember context across conversations.
- Your voice. When you talk to your companion in the app, the audio from your microphone is streamed to Google Gemini Live so your companion can hear you and answer.
- Profile details you share. Anything you choose to tell your companion (your name, preferences, or the things going on in your life) may be stored as part of your conversation history and memory.
- Support messages. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can help you.
Information collected automatically
- In the app. The app contains no analytics, advertising, or session recording tools, and it does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. If you chose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports.
- On our website: analytics and cookies. Our website uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find us. It sets cookies whose names start with
_gaand sends Google your IP address and basic browser details. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Google Analytics only loads after you allow it; everywhere else it loads by default. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, which is also at the bottom of every page. Our fonts are served from our own domain, and we don't use session recording or replay tools anywhere. - Anima on LINE. Anima no longer answers on LINE. Messages from past LINE chats, which were sent to Google Gemini to generate her replies, are deleted automatically within 60 days of the last message in each chat.
Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your payment card details. Subscriptions are processed by Apple, and we never see your card number.
- We do not access your camera, contacts, or photos.
- We do not sell your personal information. Ever.
2. How we use your information
- To generate your companion's replies and voice.
- To provide the memory feature, so conversations feel continuous.
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Service providers we share with
To make the companion work, some information is processed by trusted third parties acting on our behalf:
- AI model provider. Your companion answers through Google Gemini. To generate replies, the app sends Google your voice (streamed live while you talk), the messages you type, conversation transcripts, the memories your companion has saved, and your name. Google processes them to return a response and is contractually restricted in how it may use them.
- Voice (text-to-speech). The text of a reply is sent to Google to produce the spoken audio.
- App distribution & payments. Apple processes subscriptions and provides the App Store.
- Infrastructure & analytics. Cloudflare hosts our website and servers. Google Analytics measures visits to our website, as described above.
We share only what each provider needs to perform its function, and we do not authorize them to use your data for their own advertising.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your conversation history and memory for as long as your account or app data exists, so your companion can remember you. You can clear your history or delete your data at any time (see Your Choices below). We keep diagnostic and usage data only as long as needed for the purposes above.
5. Your choices & rights
- Delete your data. You can clear conversation history in the app, or email us to request deletion of your data.
- Access & correction. You can ask what we hold about you and request corrections.
- Manage your subscription. Control or cancel AnimaEcho+ in your device's Subscriptions settings.
- Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights such as portability or objection. Contact us to exercise them.
6. Children
AnimaEcho is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use the app or the Chrome extension, and neither is directed to children. The app asks for your birth year before you sign in and does not keep it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data and to limit access to it.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
